Hamida Barmaki Organization for the Rule of Law (HBORL) organized a capacity building training in Paktia province from 22th till 23th April 2019 for two days on “Linkage between Security Sectors and Justice Department” with close cooperation of CORDAID and financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Netherlands.
The purpose of this training was to enhance recognition and awareness within the security sectors and the judiciary regarding the linkage between Security Sectors and Justice Departments, law enforcement in these departments/ sectors, and its affect on the practical delivery of inclusive security and inclusive justice through Afghanistan NAP 1325.
Participants from, Parwan Department of Justice, Afghanistan Independent Bar Association, Department of tribal (Aqwaam & Qabayel), Department of Haj and Islamic affairs (Haj & Awqaaf), Attorney General Office participated in the training.
The topics discussed were: on the general definition of justice, mechanism of linkage between Security Sectors and Justice Departments, amendments of laws, filing system, and some important case studies. The participants also discussed the topics during group work and open discussion. The training had a positive impact on the knowledge of the participants, they appreciated the efforts and work of HBORL.
