This project aims at strengthening the knowledge of public international law and its application among employees and officials of the Afghan government who are responsible for matters related to international law.

The ultimate project goal is to enable the Afghan government to participate independently in international legal transactions with a high degree of competence and skill and to thereby recognize and fulfill its international legal obligations.

The Hamida Barmaki Organization and the Max Planck Foundation endeavor to reach this objective by providing courses on different topics of international law. The program was designed in cooperation with various Afghan state institutions being responsible for matters related to international law.

The Institute of Diplomacy of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs facilitates the realization of the project by engaging with the relevant departments in other ministries and through provision of facilities for the implementation of the project activities.
