Hamida Barmaki Organization for the Rule of Law (HBORL) with the close cooperation of Cordaid and financial support of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Netherlands conducted a 6 days legal awareness training program for Kabul based Start-up entrepreneurs.

The purpose of this training was to raise awareness on Commercial law, labor law and taxation law to the start-up entrepreneurs who are on the verge of starting their own business set up in Afghanistan.

This training was conducted for 60 start-up entrepreneurs at HBORL main office and the main topics of training were focusing on commercial law (business transactions, threats and challenges related to entrepreneurs, governmental entities and their role in Afghan commerce), taxation law (common mistakes in tax calculation, tax exemptions, tax violations and punishments) and Labor law (employment contracts, job related disputes and resolutions, suspension and termination of employment contracts).

Apart from the above topics, participants shared their problems and challenges they have faced during their start-ups. These cases were put into discussion, positive and negative aspects of each case were highlighted.

“Awareness of the existing government laws and policies reduces the rate of disputes and business conflicts in a business set up and accelerate the daily performance of the organization, we are very thankful to HBORL for conducting such a wonderful training, it will definitely help us in our business” said by one of the participants.

The participants were fully engaged with a lot of enthusiasm in the program and at the end, they were awarded certificates of participation.

It is worth mentioning that the up-mentioned capacity building programs have been designed for five years and will be implemented with the absolute cooperation of Cordaid Office and financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Netherlands
